Standalone units are suitable for scenarios with a small number of rooms, fixed device locations, and direct management by on-site personnel. Depending on the model, they can be equipped with independent switches, branch circuit adjustments, remote control, or timer functions. Their advantage is simple deployment, but as the number of devices increases, checking the status of each unit and executing switches increases management costs.

Connecting to the internet does not mean that on-site surveys can be ignored.

If there are only one or two fixed rooms where operators can manage on-site, a standalone unit is usually more direct.
